Family boating without the costs involved with owning your own boat.

Here you will find out information about the boats and locations we have round the South Island of New Zealand.

We hire out boats, based in Christchurch with a possible other boat to come later this year, possibly based at Lake Hood, and one based in Linkwater which is between Havelock and Waikawa in the Marlborough Sounds.

We also hire out the following that can be used on your own boat or similar use:

Lifejackets, flares, 406 EPIRB with built in GPS, Colour waterproof Handheld GPS
chartploter, Handheld waterproof marine radios ( 2 ).

The boats are currently getting refurbished for the new season and will be ready, we hope, for a November start to the season.

In Christchurch, we have a 3.4 metre RIB powered by a Kawasaki jet ski that is built in to the hull of the boat. This is suitable for two adults and two kids or a combination of similar weight. Max speed is around 75 km/hr with one person. I have attached a photo or two of the boat. This boat is ideal for exploring.

Also in Christchurch, we have a 3.8 metre Aakron inflatable RIB, arrived in March 2008.

At Lake Hood, we plan to have a bowrider or similar, most likely a Yamaha twin jet with a ski pole for towing a skier or water toys. Pricing to be decided, but most likely $127 per day, plus ski hire if needed. Sea biscuit hire included in boat hire.

In the Sounds we have a 16 ft 7 inch (5m) Plylite Bluewater, powered by a 90 Hp 2001 Yamaha two stroke and this is backed up with a 2001 mercury 8 Hp two stroke.

Note neither boat is allowed on rivers due to insurance requirements.

We only hire to experienced boaties, but are considering offering on water tuition this year for those new to boating.
